Windpassenger does not fly in dangerous conditions! We need dry and stable weather as well as a wind speed no greater than 20km/hr along the ground to conduct an uneventful flight.
Cool weather prevents the formation of thermal currents, which is why we prefer to fly in the morning or late afternoon.
Some essential requirements for a safe flight:
- Wind speed less than 20 km/hr. (2-3 wind force) when landing
- Wind at an altitude of 150 meters less than 40 km/hr.
- Good visibility
- Favorable skies
- Absence of rain showers in a radius of about 30 km due to turbulence
- Absence of storms due to strong turbulence
- Absence of continuous rain
On the day before your flight, Windpassenger ascertains the atmospheric conditions along with meteorological technicians and confirms the flight with you 18 hours before the flight. If conditions are not favorable the flight is canceled and scheduled for a new date.
Warning
Weather conditions could result in the pilot to not meeting the specified hours or even cancelling the flight. The location of the balloon journey can also be changed if we cannot guarantee you a full journey due to unfavorable winds (evening flights, only carried out in Portugal from November until late March/April).
